About the job:

We are seeking an experienced nanny for our 17-year-old son in San Jose. Although he is a teenager, he behaves much younger than his chronological age due to cerebral palsy and cognitive delays. We are seeking someone who can drive our son to play dates, activities, and therapy appointments. He does occasionally experience seizures, which he is on medication to prevent.

A bit about you:

You love interacting with young adults. You live in the San Jose area, drive, and have a reliable vehicle. You have at least 1-2 years of experience in providing 1-on-1 care for children with special needs and provide references that can attest to your skill set.

Job duties:

Your comforting presence will assist with meals, feeding time and occasional bathroom assistance. Help during meals and snacks is required. Light housework may occur as well: cleaning up after feeding time, laundry, etc. Care is between two households as parents are divorced.

Position highlights: Competitive pay. Guaranteed hours.

Qualifications:

You are an active person who can be a good role model. You are kind, patient, caring as well as communicative, dependable, and timely.

Set yourself apart: You enjoy spending time with children who have special needs and can actively engage our son in conversation and playful learning activities.

Schedule:

Care starts as soon as possible. Schedule is as follows:

Monday thru Friday: 2:00pm-6:00pm

Pay range: $24.00 per hour

• All applicants must first interview with a Jovie specialist. Qualifying applicants will meet with the family prior to being hired.

• Please note that during this time of COVID-19, Jovie expects all employees to follow CDC guidelines and ensure the best hygiene practices when working and in their personal time. This family is following

recommended CDC guidelines cautiously and conservatively and expect the caregiver to do the same to keep everyone as safe and healthy as possible.
